Our story

Our View

At Speciologie, we acknowledge the imponderable interdependencies in nature; the possibility that the flap of a butterfly’s wings in Brazil sets off a tornado in Texas.

We hope that in some small way Speciologie can contribute to ensuring that a thriving, diverse natural world remains a source of inspiration and wonder for future generations.

Our Art

The magic of Speciologie is the wearable art illustrations of extinct animal species captured in a signature style reminiscent of 1800’s museum drawings.

These drawings spawned a sense of wonder about the biodiversity of the earth before the advent of wildlife photography.

Our Favorite

The legendary Tasmanian Tiger, extinct since 1936 yet it never goes away.

Speculation and searches for a living specimen have been the subject of books, articles and rewards.

A 2023 study compiled alleged sightings in Tasmania claiming that the Tiger may have actually lasted throughout the 20th century.

In March 2005, Australian news magazine The Bulletin offered a $1.25 million reward for the safe capture of a live thylacine.
